Eastmoors Farm Coarse Fishing Lake
Eastmoors Coarse Fishing Lake is a purpose built fishing lake set in seventy-five acres of countryside which provides the perfect setting for a days fishing. There is also an equestrian centre based on the site. The lake is laid out as a horseshoe and is planted with a variety of different coloured water lillies. Around the edge are planted silver birch to provide cover and there are many different wild flowers including iris. You can also see all manner of birds and insects including some rare species of dragonfly. The lake is fed from the Moors River which has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest by English Nature.
The lake is stocked with many varieties of Carp including Common, Mirror, Leather and Ghost. These have grown in recent years and many are well over twenty pounds in weight. There are also many Tench, some as heavy as seven and a half pounds. There are also Golden Tench which are particularly attractive. The Roach and Perch are popular with beginners and experienced fishermen alike, as are the Chub. Being fed from the Moors River, there are some indigenous fish including Pike and Eel. When caught, these may be released into the outflow from where they can be returned to the river.
The owners extend a warm welcome to local and country members alike and hope your time with us is relaxing and enjoyable.
